Curried Lamb Chops is my take on classic lamb chops using North Indian spices. This would be a thick gravy preparation that goes very well with naan or roti or chapati. I would recommend some raw onions to go with it as well.
Serves: 4 people; Prep Time: 10- 15 minutes; Cook Time: 15 – 20 minutes
| Step 1: Lamb Marinade & Prep 6-8 Lamb Chops (1 lamb chops packet should about 6-8 lamb chops) 1/2 Lime Squeezed into Juice 1/2 tsp Turmeric Salt to taste Directions: Clean the lamb chops and mix with lime juice, turmeric and salt and marinade for about 10 minutes. |
| Step 2: Final Prep 2 red onions finely chopped 1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp. garam masala 1 tomato chopped in cubes Some curry leaves Directions: Start by heating oil on medium heat on. Add onions, curry leaves, tomato, ginger garlic paste, lamb and salt. Cover and cook for 3 minutes or so. Add chili powder, garam masala to the same pan and cook the meat further for about 5 minutes. After that lower the heat and add 1 cup of water and cover and cook for about 10 minutes. For medium rare it should be ok at this point. If you would like well done, cook for another 5 minutes. Please make sure the gravy is thick enough. Serve it hot with the Naan or Roti or Chapati. Hope you make it and enjoy it. |
